Review: Quest Hero Protein Bars

Review: Quest Hero Protein Bars

Quest Hero Protein Bar Overview

Quest's newest addition to the fam, their Quest Hero bars, are essentially their Cereal Bars (these bars are textures like Rice Crispies) with a layer of gooey goodness, then surrounded by a light coating of flavor. Overall, I have to give it to Quest, these bars are pretty tasty and have great textures, in my opinion!

They released the following flavors, which I've included full reviews for below: Blueberry Cobbler, Chocolate Caramel Pecan, and Vanilla Caramel.

Individual Flavor Reviews

Blueberry Cobbler

Texture: this bar is essentially a regular rice crispy, topped with a blueberry-flavored caramel gooey layer, then covered with a layer of white chocolate. So texture was pretty great. Not too heavy or light, juuust right.
Taste: I'll admit...I was shocked by how much I enjoyed this flavor! I didn't get a gross artificial protein fruit flavor, but rather it was a delicious, fruity/white chocolatey-covered rice crispy! 😍 I'm impressed. I'm a chocolate girl, but I thought this flavor was better than the Chocolate Caramel Pecan.
Would you do it again? I really, really would. I still can't believe how much I liked this flavor, unexpectedly! Overall taste and texture was great AND no weird protein bar taste. It's a winner!

Chocolate Caramel Pecan

Texture: Obviously, they killed that caramel texture - that layer was thick and chewy, as caramel should be. The other middle layer is chocolatey rice crispy, sprinkled with pecan pieces - this one was a good balance to the chewy caramel. The outside was a creamy Chocolate which was a perfect touch, in my opinion.
Taste: Loved the caramel and creamy chocolate outside, but the pecan flavor was lacking. Maybe because it was overpowered by the chocolate crispies layer? Or there weren't many pecan pieces? Either way, the flavor name was almost accurate to the taste.
Would you do it again? Yes I would. This bar is on the rich tasting side, so it's a sweet tooth quencher! However, if you are looking for a turtle pecan-type flavor here, that's not what you'll get. You'll get more of a caramel-layered chocolate rice crispy!

Vanilla Caramel

Texture: as with the other bars, it's a rice crispy with a caramel layer on top. So nothing new to say here that wasn't mentioned in the flavors above!
Taste: this flavor was the least exciting of the three. You could taste the vanilla and the caramel, so you get what you'd expect! The flavor didn't impress me, but it was still a solid flavor.
Would you do it again? sure, but I'd gladly take one of the other two flavors over this one. Again, the flavor name is true to taste, it just wasn't anything really special.
