Review: New RXBAR Flavors
RXBARs almost all have the same minimal, whole food base ingredients: dates, some nuts, and egg whites. A perfect blend of carbs, fats, and proteins. The dates give these bars a very thick, chewy texture. So, if that's not your thing, these are not for you. Personally, I love the texture and these bars tend to keep me satisfied for longer than other protein bars. They also don't cause me to bloat, as RXBARs are made with simple, whole food ingredients versus the chemical blends found in most protein bars.
Typical nutrition breakdown for RXBARs:
- 210-220 calories
- 12g protein
- 7-10g fat
- 21-26g carb
RXBAR has a total of 11 flavors now and this blog is a review of the three newest flavors: mixed berry, chocolate peanut butter, and chocolate chip.
New Flavor Reviews:
The tartness of this bar immediately won me over. Because these bars are fruit based with dates, fruit flavors have a natural advantage for this bar, in my opinion. Like if you like the Blueberry RXBAR, you'll love this one. Furthermore, the texture was the seediest I've had - assuming due to what seemed like strawberry seeds in the bar, which I actually really enjoyed. Just beware of seeds getting caught in your teeth! Overall, this flavor + texture was fresh and delicious.

Would you do it again? Heck yes. I ordered a whole box immediately after trying my sample bar!
Chocolate peanut butter
The texture of this flavor was incredibly different than any other RXBAR I've tried. It was not nearly as chewy as the rest, but rather had a melt-in-your-mouth soft tootsie roll feel. In addition to a different, but awesome, texture, the flavor was on point - equal parts chocolate and peanut butter. I loved it and I don't tend to like the chocolate RXBAR flavors.

Would you do it again? For sure. It tasted like a dessert and that texture...yes.
This flavor was just okay for me. There were a good amount of cacao nibs throughout the bar (those are the chocolate chips), which I enjoyed. However, nothing special about this flavor and the chewy texture was typical of most RXBARs.

Would you do it again? Nah, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat this one again.
And the winner is...
drum roll, please
Mixed Berry! It barely edged out Chocolate Peanut Butter due to its refreshing, tart taste, which makes it more of an everyday flavor for me. And I may be biased, as I do like the fruit-flavored RXBARs the best. Mixed Berry takes 2nd of all 11 flavors, right behind my #1 flavor, Maple Sea Salt.
